Wow! Big Island Scuba Diving; Honounou Hawaii's Kona Coast

เขียนโดย Eva | 10:27

Wow! What a wonderful place for snorkeling and scuba diving the Big Island of Hawaii is, Kona received the moniker the Gold Coast as you would look in the water and it would be shimmering gold with the tremendous schools of yellow tang, even today you can see big schools of these fish. Hawaii is very unique in that 25% of the fish that are here are only found here. It is not uncommon to count over 150 different spices of fish at Honounou. Turtles, dolphins and manta rays are routinely spotted by Big Island Hawaii scuba divers & snorkels at Honounou.

Boat Dives are the norm in Hawaii, but an exception is the famous 2 step at Honounou or the City of Refuge which has over 150 different species of fish. It is not uncommon to see turtles as they cruise along eating the grasses and mosses that grow along the shore. Picasso trigger fish one of the most colorful reef fish also known as lagoon trigger fish are found on he left side, if you are looking out towards the deep in around 15 feet of water, so even snorklers can se them. You can find frog fish that look like rocks when they get older and stone fish that look like stones, hence the name, but you need to be careful as the stone fish have poisonous spines.

Something else that you might not want to play with would be the eels they are not aggressive but their favorite food is octopus and they have bad vision, so your hand will look quite appetizing to them. There are many different types here from dwarf eels to giant morays, yellow & white mouths and green head morays are all fairly common. Another great find here is the very hard to spot leaf scorpions which look like leafs but have the same type of eyes as the stone fish, which look like what I would guess the monolith called TMA from 2001 a Space Odyssey would look like when you peered in except the difference here is that if Dave looked in he would say instead "Wow its full of fish"!

About Malta - Malta Prehistoric Temples

เขียนโดย Eva | 22:28

Malta and Gozo, located in the centre of the Mediterranean, have a rich history spanning over the last 7000 years or so! There are temples, goddesses, wrecks, hypogea, cemeteries, Bronze Age villages, catacombs, tombs, villas, baths, 'cart ruts', caves, auberges, palaces, fortifications, and so much more. All this is sure to interest any historian, archaeologist, or sightseer! But of all these, the oldest and perhaps the most spectacular are the prehistoric temples scattered all over the islands.

Malta Archeology

The evidence available suggests that man reached the islands by boat from Sicily about 7000 years ago. They were farmers who built extraordinary structures out of large slabs of stone. There is little argument that these structures were in fact temples because they are monumental in size, contain many symbols and altars, and show no sign of domestic use at all.

Inside the majority of the temples, statuettes (as well as one monumental statue) have been discovered which represent an opulent mother goddess, also known as 'The Fat Lady'. It is believed that she was worshipped by the farmers in order to have good crops in the typically hot weather.

Even the shape of these temples is unique; they are either lobed, or made up of a series of apses. The incredible thing is that when viewed from above (as a bird's eye view) the temples seem to have the same shape as the mother goddess, with large thighs! Interestingly, there is no such structure anywhere in the world which is remotely similar to our Maltese temples. This emphasizes the uniqueness of the island, present from even 7000 years ago!

There are some twenty three temples around the island, most of which stand alone or in pairs. These span from around 3600 to 2500BC, making them even older than the Great Pyramid of Egypt, which dates to 2550BC! These include the Ggantija temple, which is the oldest known temple found on the island of Gozo, Hagar Qim and Mnajdra Temples, Tarxien Temples, Kordin Temple, Skorba Temple, and Ta' Hagrat Temple, amongst others.

There is also a prehistoric underground burial know as the Hal-Saflieni Hypogeum which is associated with the Tarxien Temple, in that it is said to be its related burial ground. It is also completely unique and seems to be a cut-out copy of the temples, but underground. Apart from offerings and skeletons, two incredible chambers were discovered inside, known as the Holy of Holies, as well as the Oracle Room, known for its incredible use of sound. This hypogeum has been recently restored, lit up, opened to the public and been acknowledged as a UNESCO World Heritage site. But book ahead, as only groups of 10 are allowed in every hour and this is surely not one to miss!

Maltese Culture and Traditional Rituals

The rituals that took play within the temples were also very interesting and unique. Apart from the statuettes of the mother goddess, many other symbols were found, including phallic symbols, carved farming animals, and a curly spiral design which has become somewhat of a trademark on the island. The temples are divided into private and public areas where the priests and public were divided. Altars were used to sacrifice animals to the deities, and holes at the entrances were used for libration; the pouring of liquids such as water, wine or blood, to the goddess.

This incredible period in our history ended very mysteriously and abruptly! At the end of what is known as the 'Tarxien Phase', which is the latest phase in this period, the temples went completely out of use and it is almost as though everyone disappeared. In fact, at a later phase a new group of people moved into the temples and used them for completely different reasons.

Archaeologists still wonder what may have brought such an abrupt end to one of the most complex and advanced prehistoric cultures of its time!

Review of Sivara Spa - Bangkok, Thailand

เขียนโดย Eva | 17:48

Sivara Spa is a luxury chain spa exclusive to Amari Hotels and Resorts in various parts of Thailand (Bangkok, Koh Chang, Krabi, Patttaya, Phuket, Samui, Trang)

On my last trip to Bangkok, I stayed at the Amari Watergate and Sivara Spa is tucked away on the 8th floor of the hotel and facing the swimming pool and health and fitness centre.

The Sivara Spa at the Amari Watergate Hotel in Bangkok is newly renovated to a modern and contemporary Thai style. As you walk into the reception, you can find a delightful interplay of bronze "lotus flowers", water walkways, stones, curtains, candlelight and flowers.

There are three spacious zen-themed double rooms and 5 single treatment rooms. Each of the themed double rooms is assigned to a signature treatment.

In the spa brochure own words, the various themes for the treatment rooms are:

The Mystical Forest room harnesses the spirit of the forest and allows guests to meditate on the power of nature. This botanically-inspired room features a tropical rain shower to wash away the stress of the day. The refreshing blends of essential oils used for the massages will leave the body feeling rejuvenated.

In Floral Bloom room, you can guarantee that tension will drain away and the spirit will be revived with a rose petal bath in this floral paradise. The fragrances of flowers will cleanse and purify your soul, whilst the ylang ylang, lavender and marjoram essential oils, used in the treatments, provide the ultimate feminine indulgence.

In the Herbal Inspiration room, the healing qualities of herbs - known for centuries, as nature's gift to mankind - are combined with luxurious pampering.

I opted for the "Sarada Package" (2hrs) treatment which comprises a oil massage & facial. I was not keen to do a facial and the receptionist was flexible enough to change the facial to a body scrub instead.

From the lighting and temperature in the room, to the volume of music and pressure applied during massages or scrubs, the therapist was so caring and considerate for my entire treatment. The gentle therapist at the spa truly live up to the gracious spirit of the Thai's spa culture.

For total relaxation, the Sivara Spa also offer a complete range of massage, spa, facial and body treatments. The selection of treatments include Thai and oil massages, body polishes and wraps, facials, and even a customized half day, full day, multi-days spa program. There is also the awesome 4-hands massage, which has become the signature treatment of high-end Thailand's spa, but due to time constraints, I could not find time for this famous treatment.

The prices in the Sivara Spa are typical of hotel spas and are hence slightly on the high side. If you are a guest of the hotel, make sure you pick up a discount voucher at the hotel concierge which will entitle you to a 10% discount and a free floral foot bath.

Location of Spa: Amari Watergate Hotel, 847 Petchburi Road Bangkok 10400

Size of Spa: Three couple treatment rooms, five single rooms

Facilities: Private Shower and jacuzzi in couple's room

Friendliness: Extremely polite receptionist and massage therapists

Pricing: Ranges from US$60 to US$120 for massage only. Between US$115 to US$220 for spa packages.

A Thai Staycation in Edinburgh!

เขียนโดย Eva | 08:36

Although everyone is laothed to mention the dreaded credit crunch lately it has highlighted a relatively new act...no, not a new entry in the Karma Sutra...no, I'm talking about the staycation! What is a 'staycation'? I hear you ask. Well, it's an American term combining 'stay' and 'vacation' i.e stay at home vacation. It's one of those annoying new words but the theory behind it is good. Rather than spending a fortune on a holiday to say, a nice hot beach Thailand you would bring Thailand to your home (or local area at least) and save some of that precious cash. So, I've put together a rough guide on having a staycation and using my example of Thailand so here goes; Chill 'oot - What better way to get into the relaxed way of life than to treat yourself to a Thai massage. With roots in Yoga, Ayurvedic medicine and Buddhism , a Thai massage involves stretching and massage on a mat and leaves you feeling relaxed both inside and out!

Bring on the heat - While tropical heat may not be the norm for the rest of the world you should be able to recreate the feeling by visiting somewhere tropical instead. Try butterfly world in Edinburgh for exotic insects and clammy heat. Better yet, wear shorts and t-shirt whever the weather outside (well you wouldn't wear jeans and UGG boots in Phuket would you!? Thai food - That main pull for a holiday location for me has got to be the food.

I don't want to visit a country only to immediately hunt down bacon and eggs when I could be having tapas, authentic curries or even kangaroo! Why should your staycation be any different? For authentic Thai food, grab the family and head to the Thai Orchid Restaurant just off the Royal Mile. With a huge Buddha at the door and Oriental waitresses you will be transported to Thailand from the moment you walk through the door.

If after your massage you just want to unwind at home then why not learn to cook some Thai food for yourself? The Thai Orchid restaurant, Edinburgh has a set of authentic Thai recipes on its website for you to try at home. Each recipe has been cooked in the restaurant and includes some family favourites so you can be sure you are getting something 'real'. So that's it, some ideas for a staycation in Edinburgh. While it may not be quite the same as hot-footing it over to Thailand at least you save not only the hard earned pennies but you gain yourself the thirteen hours you would otherwise spend travelling - you can't lose!

How to Travel For Money

เขียนโดย Eva | 07:33

How is it possible for you to travel for money?

Traveling for money is ideal for many people. Imagine yourself getting rich while living in different exotic locations or by taking trips to various places. You get to encounter and see wonderful things and have memorable experiences.

Traveling for money can be for everybody. Anybody with the willingness to travel, earn, and embrace the lifestyle can become wealthy abroad. The most common way to do this is to find travel, tourism, and hospitality jobs. These jobs are a dime a dozen and easier to get than you think.

These three industries offer the most jobs that will likely involve travel or working abroad.

The tourism industry is a huge industry that many national governments focus their efforts on expanding. It seems that just about every country in the world has something to offer for tourists to experience or see. They use marketing campaigns to get tourists visiting. And from the start, jobs are created to cater to the growing demands of guests and tourists.

You can get a travel job in almost any aspect of travel. You can be a cab driver or a flight attendant. It's important to look at every aspect of traveling as a potential job.

Travelers also require security. People with experience and training in personal security or law enforcement can travel in different locations for a career in security and safety measures. Tourist destinations, especially the crowded ones, are in need of reliable security and they are a good place to start when looking for security travel jobs. Another great place to look is at nightclub and local hot spots where rowdy tourists sometimes need to be controlled.

Hospitality jobs are service-oriented jobs that are mainly responsible for the comfort and well being of guests. These jobs are usually found in hotels, spas, and restaurants, and include responsibilities ranging from bar tending to massage. These kinds of jobs are closely tied in with tourism. In the hospitality industry there are plenty of jobs being offered for people from all walks of life and at all experience levels. Entry level positions usually don't require past experience and they provide you with the opportunity to move up in position. Hotels and similar establishments that have specialized services which provide comfort, pleasure, and relaxation have the most lucrative positions available.

Entertainment is a big draw for tourists. Travelers want fun and excitement and they clearly want to be entertained. Skills in music, comedy, and other stage performances can be opportunities for a flourishing travel career. It is very common for performers to travel the world and to cater to different audiences. The pay is great and the experience of entertaining different nationalities is very rewarding.

As you might have known, cruise liners offer all these jobs plus many more. They usually offer room and board as well as some spending money. You get the opportunity to meet people from all over the world while traveling from port to port. It is the ultimate vacation experience and also a great opportunity for travel job aspirants.

To get these jobs, try researching online about the qualifications and look for agencies that offer job placements for the positions you desire. Some training and credentials may be required, so on your spare time, it is a good idea to to attend some training programs and get certifications, like CPR training or learn a new language.

Traveling on a Budget

เขียนโดย Eva | 01:44

Traveling is a very worthwhile hobby, and is a great way to expand your horizons beyond your own comfort zone. It is also a fantastic window to emotional intelligence and comprehension of foreign cultures and lands. On top of that, it can be really great fun at the same time, and is always sure to impress an employer in your resume. Unfortunately, as much as many of us would love to travel, we simply don't have access to the necessary resources. In this article, we'll look at the various ways you can travel on a budget, and still experience foreign lands without all the expense.

Before setting off on any trip or excursion, it is imperative that you organize appropriate insurance cover for the duration. If you shop around, particularly online, you'll find great deals and offers on insurance, whatever your needs. Additionally, if you're a frequent traveler, you might like to take advantage of the year-long insurance policies that are widely offered. This might pan out to be cheaper in the long run when spread over a number of trips, and could provide more cost effective travel cover for the budget conscious traveler. Again, get yourself online to find out about the breadth of deals of this nature available.

The Internet can also be a useful tool in picking up some great deals on accommodation and flights. Since the growth of the Internet, traveling has become a lot cheaper as suppliers gradually cut out the middle man in their attempt to increase margins. By buying direct from the supplier through their website you're cutting out on the profit margin and overheads of the agent, and you can really save some serious money. Additionally, the Internet lends itself particularly well to the instant 'last-minute' style travel savings. The rationale behind this is that with a day to go, it's better to sell an extra seat on the plane for $10, rather than have it go empty. If you're flexible about where and when you travel, you can make some really fantastic savings, which will be really useful as extra spending money when you arrive.

Traveling is great fun and is certainly very commendable although it can be an expensive business. However, by being a savvy buyer in the travel market, and utilizing the Internet to its fullest potential, you can find amazing bargains to make traveling a much more accessible hobby.

Open Water Diver Training - What is the diving learn to participate?

เขียนโดย Eva | 16:44

I cannot say that diving is for you or is not for you. Some people love it, some people cannot see the point. But remembering back to my very first boat dive, shortly after I had qualified as a diver, it was well worth it. In this dive we jumped into the water and once everyone was ready we dropped down to the seabed 20 metres below us. The water was crystal clear and as we gradually approached the sand I felt like I was taking part in a slow motion parachute jump onto the sand. Except when I was three meters above the sea floor I was stopped and paused not to disturb the fish below me and hovered, waiting for the rest of the party.

It 'was a fantastic experience. One that was almost eight years later I still remember vividly. There is a dip, I would do it again if you are ever in the area, only for the sensation of falling through the water. But only four months before I was a non-sub.

My diving experience started with a test dive in a poolfollowed by a test dive in shallow water. I was hooked! I talked to the dive center and then ordered a second test dive in deeper water, go to twelve meters. So I started studying the courses offered.

The PADI Open Water is divided into the classroom, pool and open water sections that can be completed in about 4 days. Whether you at all stages on holiday in hot water or brave new home to you. You can also use the theory and pool sessions to take home anda reference to the open water sections to be completed abroad.

The classroom work involved watching videos, talking to your teacher and taking mini-tests to verify that you are on it inside It 's important to work and learn all the basics. The work in the pool, then the experience of experimenting with these techniques in a safe environment, along with exercises to practice emergency. You must perform a test of swimming skills and then demonstrate that you have shownas mask clearing and completely replace it. This is, unfortunately, the time when a man left of my course and panic us, but I was told later that his courageous and complete the course.

Once these exercises have shown that important as the air required by the contact, it's time to venture out to sea, or at least deeper water when learning in the UK! On these dives, you can slowly increase your diving to a depth of twenty meters andPractice some of the skills you've learned above all input, output and inflation. They are diving down, you feel at home with your dive.

After that, apart from a multiple choice exam, you are a qualified diver, ready and able to go with a group, through appropriate LED Diving Diving. Especially for beginners, and feel safe with your Dive Center is essential, so some of their comments before deciding where to go diving.

Scuba Diving in Cuba

เขียนโดย Eva | 16:09

Why Go?

Scuba diving in Cuba has become hugely popular in recent years, and it's easy to see why. The water is warm and crystal clear, and the vibrant underwater wildlife and excellently preserved coral reefs make it a key destination for avid scuba divers.

The sheer number of great dive sites in Cuba is staggering, far too many to explore in a single Cuba diving holiday. Many keen scuba divers return to the island year on year to explore some of the more out of the way Places. The sites also offer a good variation in their level of difficulty, so diving in Cuba is suitable for both beginners and experts.

Scuba diving in Cuba is a big business and there are many companies to choose from, especially around the most popular dive sites. Note that if you dived before, you have your certification card with you. If you are a beginner, many companies that courses will be certified in a few hours.

When IGo?

The rainy season is from May to October, to get the most popular (and expensive) time in Cuba diving is from November to May Lots of good diving can still throughout the year - the average temperature is a warm 24 degrees Celsius . Be aware that once every two years or so Cuba experiences a hurricane between August and September along the east coast, so it's worth seeking if a hurricane is expected to be before you book your holiday!

Where do IGo?

There are great dive sites suitable for scuba diving around the coast of Cuba 'island, but the resort of Cayo Coco is a particular highlight. Located north of the island, a magnificent coral reef is half a mile from the coast, this particular part of the Cuban coast is full of tropical fish, so that the divers see under the water a lot. Water, Cayo Coco features the finest beaches in Cuba, and numerous hotels and dive companies that areset up at this resort mean that you'll have little trouble finding places to stay and companies to dive with.

Maria la Gorda is equally popular, and is regarded as one of the best sites for scuba diving in Cuba. Situated in the midst of a national park, Maria la Gorda provides a more secluded experience than Cayo Coco - there's little here except for natural beauty, a few apartments and restaurants, the dive centre and some of the best diving on the island. The dive sites are characterised by steep drops, and sheer walls that are riddled with caves and tunnels to explore.

If you'd prefer to go diving amidst ship wrecks rather than coral reefs, then Santiago de Cuba is the place to go, as there are a number of well preserved wrecks that are safe to explore.

How Much Will It Cost?

Naturally, the cost of scuba diving in Cuba will vary depending on the season you visit and the company that you go with. Single dives typically cost between $25 - $50 US, with discounts available if you buy several dives at the same time. Many companies now offer Cuba diving holiday packages, including flights, accommodation and diving costs, which can offer good value and save you the hassle of putting everything together separately.

Lady-boys in Phuket, Thailand

เขียนโดย Eva | 20:24

If you come to Phuket, your itinerary will surely include the famous side shows by those Katoey's or lady-boys. Be ready for a rich sensory experience and a time of enjoyment as they go all out to please the weary customers and patrons or tourists. It is not just about making a living, it is about a way of life. It is not a sleazy existence but a means of maintaining a lifestyle as a lady-boy they would not be able to in their own native village. They wear very revealing dresses showing their ample silicone emphasized breasts while they sing and dance in their performances. Their perfect measurements and their beauty makes them the envy of many real women.

The men and the women watch transfixed as they go about their routines. In Malaysia, they are known as Maknyah's or the derogatory term 'pondan' or 'she-males' in the West.

It is sometimes difficult to discern who is real or who isn't. Some of them are indeed beautiful. I believe God in his immense mercy is giving them a chance to live a life they should have been given since birth. They are obviously more ladies than men. Transsexuals or trans-gender are those who think they are a woman born in a man's body, while a transvestite is a man who likes to dress up like a woman.

In Thailand, being a lady-boy is less derogatory for example than in the west. They are accepted by society as the third sex and are not openly discriminated against. Many Thais have a slight stature, sport smaller bodies like a woman and quite hairless. Boobs are easier to fix but a sex change operation is more complicated, and expensive. My heart really goes out for them as they undergo it to reach their quest of being a real woman. Injection of female Hormones are also part of the routine they have to undergo.

One of the country's most famous lady-boys is Nong Toom, who went from champion Thai kick boxer to being a transsexual. A movie, Saitree Lex, was made about the true story of a lady-boy volleyball team known as the 'Iron Ladies' won the national championships in 1996 against the odds.

After hearing from many Thai Trang and raving about how the snorkeling was great, I thought I better go see what the confusion is about and also heard good reviews in some forums Thai. My wife and I we went to an Expo trip to Bangkok and booked a package, 2 nights including all meals included and 2 days snorkeling.

After a 1 hour flight we landed in Trang, Phuket, is from the south. Our Resort to take the airport and took us to a pierfor our ferry to our site, which was on a small island. At the pier, I could not do all the rubbish that had been the place dirty, and I began to think this trip will not live up to the campaign of my Thai friends. But after the ferry to our town, I was surprised that the garbage was gone. Our bungalow was located about 10 meters from the beach which was beautiful location.

After you let go of our luggage we went to dinner, where we were greeted with 6 fieldsShellfish. The amount of food would feed the family. After dinner, do not come close to finishing, we were ready to return to the chalet to sleep for a whole day snorkeling.

2 days of snorkeling, we had a great time, there WAS so much fish and rice to eat, would jump out of our hands. We also went to a place called the Emerald Cave, a small hole in the side of a mountain, we swam as a group (with jackets). The cave was very dark, butWhen you looked down, the waters were blue and gave us a little light by reflection from the sun. After about 30 meters, it was just pitch dark about 50 meters. When we arrived at the end of the cave, turned on the water, there was the opening at the end of the cave. Our guide told us that there is a small beach with rocks on the other side of the wall surrounding it. But we should not swim under the wall for about 5 meters. I am a pretty good swimmer and it was easy tome, but we had a guy who could not swim at all. We had the 2 of us breath and swam and pushed down and across the other side.

Once we got through we were all on the beach, approximately 50 by 50 feet was high. It 'was an incredible place. I was our guide told us that many years ago, where the pirates used to hide valuables.

As soon as we learned again that we went to many places for snorkeling, before going back to our resort. It was a tough day.

After eachbusy day, we were greeted by a large number of fish and seafood for dinner. I must say that this trip was to live up to the hype. Trang is a nice place to visit, I would recommend it to anyone. If you like the sun, good food and snorkeling, then Trang is the place to go.

First Things First

Although Thailand is a great place to visit, when you venture out of the main cities and tourist locations, you will often be confronted with third world conditions. While this is nothing to be alarmed by, it is something that all travellers should be aware of.

Theft and poor food preparation and hygiene skills are something that you may notice in certain areas, which is why it is important to purchase comprehensive travel insurance. Not only will this cover your medical bills should fall ill from something simple such as gastro (even treatment for this illness can be expensive), but if something should get stolen, that too could be replaced, depending on your policy.

Discover Thailand

Some of the most popular places for tourists in Thailand are Bangkok, Phuket, Phi Phi Island and Koh Samui. However, there are many more destinations that should be seen, to really be believed:

• Chiang Mai - full of traditional heritage

• Chiang Rai - situated 785 kilometres north of Bangkok

• Kamphaengphet - the name means "strong as walls" or "forts made of diamonds"

• Lampang - famous for their horse-drawn carriages

• Lamphun - located on the bank of the Kuang River

• Mae Hong Son - this town has been isolated from the western world

• Nakhon Sawan - where the rivers of Ping, Wang, Yom and Nam all meet to form the Chao Phraya River

• Nan - a province rich in rock salt deposits

• Phayao - intriguing religious sites

• Phetchabun - the name means "land of crops and food"

• Phichit - several crocodile farms can be found in this province

• Phitsanulok - a great base for those wishing to adventure throughout the north and western northeast

• Phrae - one of the largest reserves of teak forests

• Sukhothai - the first truly independent Thai kingdom

• Tak - known for the area's beautiful mountains and forests

• Uthai Thani - rich with native wildlife

• Uttaradit - a well known port for goods transportation

Now, if that seems like a lot of places to visit, there is still so much more! The aforementioned provinces are only the ones located in the north of the country. The central, east, north-east and south are also there for you to enjoy!

Spanish History and Culture

เขียนโดย Eva | 20:45

The Romans took control of the Iberian Peninsula after a long and hard struggle. The Romans called the region Hispania. It was during at the start of the Middle Ages that Spain came under Germanic rule but then later it was invaded and conquered by Muslims.

After very long drawn out process, the Christians from the north gradually pushed back Muslim rulers, finally removing its last remnant in Granada in 1492, this was the same year Christopher Columbus reached the Americas. A Spanish global empire began which saw Spain become the strongest nation in Europe and it was the top world power in the 16th century and beginning of the 17th century.

Over many years there were lots of wars and this had a profound effect on the status that Spain had enjoyed. The French took advantage and invaded Spain in the early 19th century, this led to a chaotic situation with independence movements starting up that tore apart most of what was left of the Spanish empire. In the 20th century Spain went through a devastating civil war and came under the rule of an authoritarian government, leading to years of problems of unrest, but Spain finished this period with impressive economic stability. Democracy was restored to the country in 1978 in the form of a parliamentary monarchy. In 1986, Spain then joined the European Union; experiencing a cultural renaissance and continued economic success.

Officially the country of Spain, also known as the Kingdom of Spain is a member of the European Union located in southwestern Europe on the Iberian Peninsula. Its borders are with the Mediterranean Sea to the south and east, to the north it borders France, Andorra, and the Bay of Biscay; and to the north and west by the Atlantic Sea and Portugal.

Spain also has some island groups in its territory including the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands which are in the Atlantic Ocean off the African coast, and two autonomous cities in Africa, Ceuta and Melilla, that also border Morocco. With an area of 504,030 km after France, Spain is the second largest country in the whole of Western Europe and the European Union.

Spain was influenced by many cultures and peoples due mainly to its location, since stone age times and through the dawn of Spain as a country. Conversely, the country has been an important source of influence over other countries, chiefly during the modern era when it established itself as a global empire that has now left the world with a legacy of over 390 million Spanish speakers. This makes Spanish the world's second most spoken language by native speakers.

At 504,782 km2 Spain is listed as the world's 51st country by size. It is smaller than France by some 47,000km2 and is 81,000 km2 larger than the state of California in the USA.

Do You Really Know About Phuket Girls?

เขียนโดย Eva | 13:30

One of the most interesting parts of life in Phuket is watching the large number of tourists who flock to the island in search of girls. There are, of course, lots of girls in Phuket, but outsiders often come with a distorted view of what it's really like on the island. You may have heard stories about how easy Phuket girls are and how Phuket is like paradise on earth. Well, yes, it may be to some people, but there is more to Phuket girls than a stereotype.

It's amazing how often people seem to forget that the term "Phuket girls" is not simply a reference to bar girls. To bring everyone up to speed, a bar girl is a lady working in a bar, usually selling drinks, dancing or mingling with the punters. These girls will more often than not be there to pick up clients who will pay for sex.

So that's what a bar girl is, but on an island with a population of something like one million people, there are more than just bar girls. It may seem unfathomable to some people, but there are, in fact, girls on the island who don't work in bars and who have never even considered working in bars.

You can meet these girls easily enough. You can even ask them to go on a date with you if you have half an ounce of personality about you. Being connected is definitely one of the easiest ways to meet people in Phuket. Social butterflies expand their circles daily, so it pays to put yourself out there and meet people.

But what if you're only on the island for a few weeks? How are you going to meet the Phuket girl of your dreams and have a whirlwind romance? Well, you're reading this, so you're evidently able to use the Internet and are also fairly nifty with a search engine.

There are lots of websites that make it easy to meet Phuket girls. And no, they are not all websites offering Thai brides and whatever else in a package deal that usually ends up with you buying a house somewhere in Northern Thailand. Most people seem fairly adept at using Facebook and MySpace. These resources are your friends for meeting people in Thailand.

There are dedicated networks for Phuket on both of these websites, so you can connect with people without having to do more than click your mouse a few times. Though you may not be keen on meeting people through the Internet, it's really no big deal in Thailand and most people end up doing it at some point.

Another website, although this one won't be to everyone's liking, is ThailandFriends.com. This website is more like a dating site and it can at times feel a little overcrowded with foreign males searching for Thai pretties to try and seduce, but you can meet some decent folk through this website and there are regular get-togethers that you can also be a part of.

Wine Tours to Napa

เขียนโดย Eva | 20:41

With the Mustard Festival in full swing and the Napa Valley covered in glowing green and yellow mustard plants, the busy visitor season is just around the corner.

Will the economy crush tourism to the Napa Valley?

Hardly.

Airfares are cheaper, hotels are cheaper, restaurants are cheaper and even with a reduction in some visitor traffic, now is the absolute best time to plan wine tours to Napa and the surrounding wine country.  You will have better access to wineries and will likely find wine deals unavailable even 6 months ago.

Travel to the Napa Valley is fun and easy, especially if you are driving (oh, did I forget to mention gas prices are down, too?).

Don't think you can just show up and expect direct access to all of the top wineries and restaurants on your list.  It will still be busy this year.  Take the time now to plan out where you want to go, what you want to see, how to get there and to make reservations well in advance of your trip.

'Thinking of postponing your Napa wine tours trip?

Unless you are unemployed or homeless, don't put it off.  This makes practical sense.  Now is the time to visit.  If you put it off "waiting until next year" the economic projections I am hearing is that the economy will be starting to climb out of the doldrums next year and then you'll be here with everyone else.

Take advantage of the trip now, when travel costs are down and you can likely get great deals on wine and lodging.

If you have wine tours to Napa on your travel list, I hope I have shown why now is the time to plan and go.  It really is a gorgeous time of year and a terrific time to visit, taste and enjoy all the valley has to offer.
